Valentin Bashkurin: "My mission is to make 3% of the population happy, rich and successful, and most importantly, self-understanding"

Valentin Bashkurin - a well-known coach and psychologist for entrepreneurs from Russia, who has been successfully working in the Tashkent market for some time. Its mission is to help businessmen identify and overcome internal barriers that hinder their professional and personal development.

In an interview "J News" we discussed key aspects of his work and learned about the most memorable cases in his practice when clients achieved significant results thanks to his methods. In addition, Valentin shared his observations on trends and changes in the field of coaching and psychological support for entrepreneurs in recent years.

  • Valentin, tell us about your path to becoming a coach and psychologist for entrepreneurs. How did you start your career in this field?

V. B.: I welcome you all. You know, as they say – the best business starts with solving your needs, and in this story, it turned out that way. I worked in many companies, started different businesses. I constantly wondered why someone is growing and developing quickly, and someone is not?

It dawned on me that it's not how much you know, what tools you own (I'm talking about marketing, sales and management), but how you feel about a particular situation. Since 2019, coaching and psychology have entered my life. Initially, I went to various specialists myself, and oddly enough, I grew, not only mentally, but also in money. Moreover, the growth in money was very fast. Then, I decided to do it myself and bring value to the world. I studied and practiced a lot. During my career, my clients were people from different fields: from hiring specialists to general directors of airlines and the sports federation.

  • What exactly attracted you to working with unconscious programs, and how do you integrate this knowledge into coaching?

V. B.: In fact, unconscious programs are automatisms that we live by. For example, to open a door – we don't think. So, I need to turn the handle to the right, etc.

Every action in business and in life we make based on our unconscious programs and beliefs. Therefore, with the help of certain questions (Why is it profitable not to grow? What terrible thing can happen?) and most importantly, if you answer these questions honestly, you can understand what installations and programs are interfering. And then, it's a small matter - it's to find a specialist and work out these things with him. I have my own methodology that can help you identify problems and introduce new beliefs and programs at the level of habit. New beliefs and programs = new actions, and new actions = new results. It's stupid to do the same thing and wait for a new result (smiles).

  • How do you help entrepreneurs identify and overcome internal barriers that hinder their professional and personal development?

V. B.: Through questions. We grow through 2 things-truth and vision (vision is the creation of the future in your head, which will not happen just like that).

1) It is to say and accept the truth that something is not working out for me. Let's say grow in money. I work hard, but I don't have any more money. Recognizing the problem is already a big part of the solution. Because often because of * EGO* and not losing face, we just work harder (smiles). It is very important to go to the truth and work on it.

2) Unfortunately, entrepreneurs and many people do not have an understanding of where they are going. It's like getting behind the wheel of a car in the morning and going somewhere, as they say, you will arrive somewhere. And we translate this into business and life – we go with the flow. And it is very important to understand exactly where you are going. And I'm not talking about the goal right now, but something bigger, something higher and more attractive than the goal. Something that ignites and moves forward.

It is very important to have 3 components and then you will be successful. I can guarantee that.
1) vision;
2) status;
3) the strength of the decision made.

If you don't have one thing, you'll just flounder in place or grow, but very slowly.

  • What are the main problems and challenges that you see among entrepreneurs in Tashkent and Uzbekistan in general?

V. B.: People do not hire top managers (leaders who will be the number one in his company, and possibly in those tasks that are important to his company). Here again, the fear that there is someone cooler than me and I would rather hire an average person to be the smartest.

It is very important to ask a question here:
Not- "how?" (how can I do this, because if an entrepreneur thinks in the "how" category, then he will just be an average entrepreneur again.

It is important to ask a question:
"Who?" (who wants to become the number one in this or that issue and will be able to develop my company) because we grow only through people. So ask the question – "who?", not " how?"

Now everyone is trying to make a profit at the moment and think about how to make money now, in a week or a month, but not many people think about how I can influence the market, what part of the market I can occupy, etc., what I can do for 1-5 years ahead. If you think about the market, then you can earn a lot more money because you will understand what kind of business model is needed, if of course it exists.

  • Can you share one of the most memorable cases in your practice, when the client achieved significant results thanks to your work?

V. B.: Of course, I have a lot of entrepreneurs who have achieved results from interacting with me. For example, Arthur @prouzum
– He had questions that were constantly being dragged down (I can't divulge what kind of questions) when we met. I immediately understood what was going on and we decided to work together.
after work:

- merger of two companies;

- works with top entrepreneurs in Uzbekistan;

- it is one of the top sellers on Uzum and Wildberries.

  • What techniques and techniques do you use in your work with unconscious programs?

V. B.: I have my own method – it has a huge number of techniques and techniques from-CBT, gestalt, etc. I can say with confidence that using my method, people solve their internal problems much more effectively.

  • What impact do you think coaching and psychology have on business success and the personal well-being of entrepreneurs?

V. B.: Direct. there is an internal and external territory. You know – the inner state and understanding of yourself is directly reflected in the outside and only in this way. As soon as you change inside, and I'm talking about thinking and understanding yourself, immediately the outside world will change with you. It all starts with us. Although many people try to change others. But the truth is, first you and then everyone else will start to change. After all, even in turbulence, they say-first put the mask on yourself, and then on the child. So it is in real life.

  • How do you motivate your clients to constantly develop and overcome difficulties?

V. B.: Here again, it is important to accept the fact that you want more and accept the fact that well, you can't do it in order to grow. And, of course, it is important to encourage yourself. After all, if you only work, do not plan the weekend and do not buy yourself something or thank yourself for the work done, then there will be burnout, depression, because the psyche simply will not understand, and why more, if nothing changes in my life?

  • What trends and changes do you see in the field of coaching and psychological support for entrepreneurs in recent years?

V. B.: In Russia, all of them have begun to be worked out. Work on thinking and go into psychology and coaching. Uzbekistan is not at that stage yet, but those who start doing it now will be ahead of everyone. It is very important to understand that going to a psychologist is important not when everything is bad, but when everything is good – but you want more.

  • What role do you think emotions and unconscious attitudes play in making business decisions?

V. B.: Direct line. For example, when you were a child, you were scolded and told that you didn't do it – it's better not to start. Or you were deceived, and you decided not to trust. So in business, someone will understand that they want to develop, they want a great team and employees. But he will do everything except (and find excuses for himself) to hire these employees and start doing it.

  • How do you maintain a balance between your personal life and professional activities? What advice do you give your clients on this issue?

V. B.: It is very important to have a hobby or business where you will not wait for the result, but simply enjoy the process. And, of course, plan your vacation. We plan everything in our life: meetings, negotiations, work, but not rest, it is very important to understand "what is rest for me and how I want to spend it"?

  • What skills and qualities do you think are most important for a successful coach and psychologist?

V. B.: Empathy, continuous development, listening and listening skills.

  • How do you deal with professional burnout and keep yourself motivated at work?

V. B.: I travel, plan vacations, and know how to please myself for a particular job. This is the only way to keep yourself motivated. The main thing is to know what and how you want? It is very important to go to your meeting and be about yourself.

  • What inspires you and gives you the strength to continue working in this difficult and responsible field?

V. B.: My mission is to make 3% of the population happy, rich, successful, and most importantly self-aware. In general, I am inspired by the feedback of people who are grateful to me (smiles)

  • What are your plans and goals for the future? Do you plan to develop your own techniques or launch new projects?

V. B.: Start offline meetings in Tashkent, something like a closed club, where we will analyze and develop in group dynamics. This is definitely not available on the market – watch out. It will be very interesting

  • Thank you for the interview.

V. B.: Thank you. I was very pleased to be useful to readers. I believe in everyone and I know that everything will work out.

One of my favorite quotes is "Those who believe that he will not succeed and those who believe that he will succeed-both are right." So let it work out for you. Good luck!
